Delivery anxiety

I have about 2-3 weeks left before the delivery of my new longarm machine.  I've been haunting the online iqdemos and dreaming of things to come.

It's count down time for me and getting harder to wait. Fortunately, I have client quilts to finish which should keep me busy.  Speaking of....I scooted a sweet little quilt in for myself that I started last summer!  It reminds me of my grandmother, I've used a retro collection and lighter colors.  It really is quite huggable and I'm sure I'll have to harden my heart in order to keep from giving it to a grandbaby.

a new adventure

Here it is about year 3 that I started my longarm journey and now, well now I'm about to get my second longarm machine.  Not really a bigger machine, just one to handle the workload of a professional quilter.  My arms are challenged enough with the size of my current machine, so bigger is not always better.  But bigger motor is better.

Also I'm adding the intelliquilter....I'm so excited to get this addition.  With this computerized addition I'll have access to more patterns for my clients as well as many more options to customize a quilt.  All of this is happening at the beginning of Spring and what a great metaphor for a new adventure!

Fabriholic

You know what I mean....honestly, can you walk in a fabric store or check out an online fabric site and just walk away or log out?  It's really difficult.  Even when I give myself limits, I find that I'm still purchasing fabric for future quilts.  And I mean future quilts, I think I'm purchasing for 2017 now.

I love getting all of my fabrics out and spreading them around me, to rearrange and refold them.  Sometimes I even find patterns that I want to piece.  But do I cut them out?  Never!!! Well, not really never, but it is really hard for me to start cutting my fabrics.  Once I get started, I'm committed, but getting started.... ugh...  not so easy.  I'm still holding onto a 2" x 2" little off pink tiny duck print that I dearly love and have put in many baby quilts.. This is all I have left and believe me, I've looked for more.  If only the people that receive my quilts knew how much some fabrics mean to me, they would treasure them in a whole different way.

What about you...is it hard to cut into your fabric stash, or do you just get them out and admire them?
